ALANA , zug zug !
Long before that annoying Geico caveman guy there was ATUK played by Ringo Starr.
the film was a little comedy called CAVEMAN and it had it's moments. But Ringo's lady love interest in the film was ALANA played by his real life wife Barbara Bach.
Here are a couple of pics and the movie poster thrown in for good measure. Decent pics of Barb in her CAVEWOMAN fur were tough to come by but I did the best I could. So here...take a look at Barbara Bach as ALANA the Cavewoman in CAVEMAN!

Bud Root's CAVEWOMAN!
Cavewoman Cast
1) Cavewoman (Meriem Cooper): When Meriem was six years old her grandfather rescued her from an abusive mom and escaped in a time machine programmed for the future. Stuff happened, and they ended up in the cretaceous period (the latter half of the age of dinosaurs). Gramp died when Meriem was eight, leaving her stranded right up to the time of Marshville's arrival when she was nineteen.
2) Bruce Kabbit: A smoking, swearing, live-for-the moment kind of guy. He was also Meriem's childhood friend (Bruce was eight when Meriem disappears) and is now her adult lover.
3) Gramp (Francis Reicher I):To the town of Marshville, he's a figment of Cavewoman's imagination (which they believe is understandable, considering Meriem's years alone). To Meriem, Gramp is a beloved spirit who actually appears to help her out.
4) Lumpy (Francis Reicher II): Gramp's Grandson. Klutzy and cowardly, though he'll go to any length (including risking his life) to help a loved one. He desperately fears Klyde, and respects and loves Meriem (his cousin) and Will O'Brian (his best friend).
5) Will O'Brian: The coolest Kid on the block. Brave, witty, and smart (although he'll do stupid things like going into the jungle on a dare).
6) Professor Robert Cook: The most enthusiastic paleontologist in the world, past or present. Loves dinosaurs, loves mechanix, loves live, and loves Meriem (but he knows she loves Bruce, so he leaves her alone...a cool guy).
7) Captain Patricia Lavery: Pat's the calm, cool head of Marshville's police (although, if the right buttons are pushed, she can explode).
8) Sgt. Timothy Higgins: Tim is devoted to keeping the peace and pleasing Capt. Lavery (to the point of becoming "pain-in-the-ass-kisser").
9) & 10) Ray & Fay: Raymond J. Forrest is a former L.A. Ram who fell in love with Fay and went into the ice cream business. Faye Creighton Channey is a former hairdresser who fell in love with ray and joined him in the ice cream business. Cool couple, especially Fay. Ray can have a bad temper, though it's never directed towards Fay.
11) The Hermit (Roberto Armstrong): The Hermit is the guy kids tell spooky stories about around the campfire or in the Clubhouse. Believed by some to practice black magic. He's the only guy alive that frightens Sgt. John Marstone (though Marstone'd never admit it).
12) Sgt. John Marstone: lOO% man. Huge ego. Not a sensitive bone in 'im. Self-reliant and self-centered. Believes he's the best cop in the world, and he knows just the right buttons to push to piss off Captain Lavery.
13) Gail Cooper (Meriem's Mom): Thirteen years ago she was very abusive, towards both Meriem and herself. Since then, she's recovered her life, but still yearns for forgiveness from Meriem...and herself.
14) Klyde: Big and strong, intelligent and mean, he's the most dangerous creature to ever walk the planet, next to man. Klyde was formerly the beloved lab animal/assistant of Gramp. Since Gramp's death, Klyde has gone bad. He hates everything except Lumpy Reicher, who Klyde believes is a "little Gramp," and loves him deeply-as much as he loved Gramp (which is bad news for Lumpy and the town of Marshville

JUNGLE GIRL , Cave girl , same thing
OTHER JUNGLE GIRLS
JUNGLE GIRL ?
In 2003 IDW comics mage an attempt to put out a comic book called "Jungle Girl"
Due to poor orders ( Only 1,400 ) it was cancelled. I don't know if the 1st issue ever made it to stands but I WANT ONE ! Here is the previews review for pre-order from 2003.
IDW Publishing has announced a July release for Janet Harvey's Jungle Girl, a standard format, 32-page comic book.
Here's how IDW describes the book:
"Civilization and savagery collide in SouthAmerica's uncharted jungles!
"South America, 1916. When a young blue eyed girl is reported to be leadingIndian insurrections against the Putamayo rubber companies, Nicholas Carston, a representative of the English House of Commons, is sent to investigate. He needs to determine if she is a British citizen and if so, extract her from this volatile region without causing an international incident. There's only one problem.
"She won't wear clothes, she can't speak English and she attacks any whiteman who comes near her…."
"The way I have been describing it to people is Tarzan meets Apocalypse Now," Harvey said. "In the early 20th century, the Peruvian Rubber Company basically enslaved and decimated over half of the native indian population of the Putamayo region. In Jungle Girl, the only vocal European proponent of the rights of these indians - a guy from the British Foreign Office - is 'disappeared' by the rubber companies. However, his infant daughter grows up in the care of a local tribe and comes back to haunt them with a vengeance. And that's what sets up the chain of events that takes place in the story.
"It's two-fisted action adventure, and I'm overjoyed that it's found a home at IDW. The IDW team has been a dream to work with, and they've taken every care to make sure that the comic is the best it can be. So I feel very lucky."
Editor-in-chief Jeff Mariotte said, "Most modern comics seem to be set in New York City, so some artists never have to learn how to draw any othersetting. But Jungle Girl is rich in historical detail and accuracy, and we wanted it to be visually accurate as well. So I turned to a Brazilian Studio called Magic Eye, and the work we got back by Eduardo Müller blew us away. Between Janet's thrilling script and Eduardo's compelling art, this comic is sure to please adventure fans everywhere." Janet Harvey's Jungle Girl will cost $3.99.

Dave Stevens...and Bettie
Dave Stevens, the profoundly gifted comic book creator and illustrator, passed away on March 10th at the age of 52, after a long (and privately fought) battle with leukemia.
His life and work have have a profound impact on Bettie Page the person and Bettie Page the enduring icon. Falling in love with her photos and film reels, Dave honed his clean-lined style by faithfully bringing the then-"missing" Bettie to life on bristol board.
Eventually, he would incorporate her likeness in his title, THE ROCKETEER, as a character named "Betty", the girlfriend of the title's hero, Cliff Secord. A retro-pulp adventure about a boy who uses a jet pack to fight for justice, began modestly as a back-up in Mike Grell's STARSLAYER in 1982. THE ROCKETEER's fame snowballed, raising the profile of both artist and "model".
Dave's stunning renditions and interpretations of Bettie Page ( in ROCKETEER, scores of pin-ups and in the authorized BETTIE PAGE COMICS) created a legion of fans, priming the pump for Bettie's return to the public eye. Ironically, when THE ROCKETEER was finally translated to the big screen, "Betty" the character was deemed too hot for a Disney title, leaving Jennifer Connelly to play a re-named, toned down girlfriend to Billy Campbell's "Cliff".
If Dave's only contribution to Bettie's life was through the beauty and impact of his art, that would warrant eternal gratitude on the part of Bettie and her fans. However, once Bettie resurfaced, Dave was among the first to seek her out and compensate her for using her image without her (admittedly, impossible to attain) permission. Thereafter, he not only lobbied within the creative community to urge artists to do right by Bettie, he also became one of her few close friends and confidants, driving her to doctors appointments, the grocery store and the like.
Dave Stevens, the friend and the artist, will be missed by all who have been touched by him. Bettie fans, whether familiar with his work or not, should be profoundly grateful for the ways his humanity and genius have help cultivate Bettie's current popularity.
The Life and art of Dave Stevens.
